The Hoover 30010COM – The Review
The Hoover Platinum Lightweight is a bagged upright with canister UH30010COM. If you are looking for versatility then this is the vacuum for you! This vacuum cleaner has a portable canister unit which allows the operator the freedom to clean various areas from top to bottom. Tests have revealed that this Hoover vacuum cleaner has the capacity to pull more dirt out of your carpets than any other machines. A 6-year limited warranty comes with the Hoover Platinum.
Weighing in at just less than 12 pounds and incorporating the latest patented “Wind Tunnel Technology”, the Hoover 30010COM is a lightweight vacuum cleaner that sucks up dust faster than any other model out there.
Using the HEPA medium, the large filtration bag of the Hoover 30010COM has the ability to trap virtually 100% of all known allergens in order to ensure they are not released back into the air. Likewise, this HEPA bag can filter out particles as small as 0.3 microns, including dust mites, dander and pollen, and because the bags are self closing, you can be rest assured that no dust will escape.
The Hoover 30010COM vacuum cleaner has many features that will make your job of vacuuming a great deal easier. First of all, the power button can be seen directly on the handle. You’ll also notice that this vacuum cleaner has a handy indicator light which takes the guesswork out of when the bag needs to be changed.
There is a tool bracket that lets you have the tools on-board so that they are accessible at all times. The following tools come with this machine: floor brush, crevice tool and a dusting brush. This Hoover vacuum cleaner comes equipped with a telescoping extension wand. The upright even has a headlight so that you will be able to see any debris and dirt that is located along the baseboards and under furniture.
The canister portion of this lightweight machine comes with a carrying strap which increases its mobility. It is able to be toted up and down the stairs, and if there happens to be tight quarters, the Hoover Platinum should be your choice. At the top of the canister is an area that has a handle which makes it very easy to pick up and carry while the vacuum is still in operation. You will see that the canister has impressive suction. The hose is a bit short at less than 5 feet. The canister vacuum is also somewhat loud.
Now, considering that you actually get two vacuum cleaners so to speak, the $400 price tag is a welcome surprise as most would expect to pay considerably more for the Hoover Platinum. Of course, as with any appliance, the Hoover Platinum does have a few issues but having said that, they’re not important enough to cause any problems. The first one being, there’s no roller brush cut-off feature and second, because it’s been designed to be lightweight, it can sometimes feel a little flimsy.
In my opinion the Hoover Platinum Lightweight is worth every penny. If offers you a level of mobility not seen in any other vacuum clean, it’s lightweight, and best of all is, you actually get two machines for the price of one.
